What is the best way to explore Venice? Just take your time and get lost. As much and as long as you can, because for us 5 days were not enough. During this stay we visited nothing, no museums, no churches, nothing. The only thing we were doing was just walking. Slowly and in random direction. And that was one of our best travels ever. Ever.
The thing is, that when you are in a long-distance relationship, these short meetings stay in your memory forever. We don’t want to come back to Venice, we don’t want to rewrite that stay full of desperate love, sex, smelling each other’s hair. So no, there won’t be any travel tips for Venice.

In Venice you don’t need to take a gondola ride to feel romance, it’s simply in the air, isn’t it?
I totally agree with just walking and getting lost. I visited Venice last summer for the fourth time. We did visit museums and went on a gondola ride, but for the first time, we just walked around and explored without a map and it was the most fun I’ve had in a city.
Lies, Absolutely! We postponed as well all the “must-things” for the second (if not the third) time. We should have also mentioned the tip #2: get up at 4 a.m. before the tourists flood, but it sounds still a bit extreme…
