A small dump of videos taken over these ten days. A small dump of videos taken over these ten days. Nothing in common with our expectations, loads of unforseen difficulties, a lot of flexibility and adaptation needed. But that's the essence of traveling, isn't it?

First a huge humiliating process of repacking our tandem (how can you repack a tandem - will you ask. by removing its seats and pedals, scotching them in a trash bag and paying for extra luggage) because it was 37kg instead of the 32 authorized by the shittiest air company ever. paying for the additional kilos was not an option. Then a wrong adress given by our airbnb host, two hours freezing outside (did you know how cold Amman can be in January ?), another taxi for errr 2 meter box only to discover… that our room was already given to someone else. Never in my life did I rage out on a stranger like I did yesterday. At least we got our room and our 12 hours sleep. Let the GOOD part of the journey begin.
I can’t believe it, but it looks like it’s fin I can’t believe it, but it looks like it’s finally happening! After years of dreaming, one failed attempt to bring it to life (thanks, Covid), and months of planning, we are embarking on the most ambitious cycling trip we’ve done so far: From Amman to Dubai on a tandem bicycle. 5000 km. 100+ days on the road. That’s the plan, but if it takes longer, we won’t mind too much. Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, and the UAE – this is a much-expanded and reimagined version of our original project. Not exactly typical cycling destinations, but then again, we’ve never been particularly reasonable people. Our departure is scheduled for the 1st of January – which means in just under three weeks. Am I panicking? Yes, I am! Right now, we’re busying ourselves with the final preparations and eating all the Christmas food to build up a bigger fat reserve. Once the holidays are over, we hope to bring you some nice outdoorsy content from the desert, mountains, and valleys. We’re not even sure ourselves what landscapes lie ahead! In the meantime, when there is a spare moment, we’ll share updates on our preparation process in the stories. We hope you’ll follow along and support us on this unique adventure. 🚲🚲
The fire in Notre-Dame back in 2019 was an absolut The fire in Notre-Dame back in 2019 was an absolutely horrible tragedy. I remember crying my eyes out watching videos from the scene. Since then, so much shit happened (anyone who’s opened the news recently will agree) that, in hindsight, it almost feels like a minor hiccup. Today I might have just shrugged it off. Still, deep down, I can’t help but think of it as a bad omen - a turning point that somehow derailed everything else. I’m not usually prone to magical thinking, but in times like these, there’s a small comfort in drawing silly correlations like that. Bref. I won’t embarrass myself by openly hoping that once Notre-Dame is fully restored, the rest of the world’s troubles might magically resolve - it would feel disrespectful. Still, with Notre-Dame reopening, I can’t shake the feeling that something has been set right in this chaotic world.
It was never our intention to stay in Toulouse for It was never our intention to stay in Toulouse for so long but - wo(man) proposes, god disposes. Four years later, tears in our eyes, we turn a new page. It's not a goodbye, but a big pause during which we'll try something different. 🤍 In this reel I put hardly a half of what I would like to show you, but it gives an idea of how beautiful this region is. Looking forward to coming back.
